Fallon Statue Removal Project

For over 30 years the Chicano Mexicano community has protested the removal of the Fallon statue because it represents the ongoing oppression and exploitation of the Chicano Mexicano indigenous people. Thomas Fallon planted the US flag before the US signed the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo in 1848.

COVID-19 Action Network

The Barrio Defense Committee (BDC), a representative organization of grassroots people, and other allied organizations listed are hereby calling upon the Santa Clara County and City of San Jose governmental administrations and elected officials to take immediate response actions to address the disproportionate Covid19 (Corona virus) infections in Mexican/Chicano/Latino and Asian and other economically impacted communities in our barrios.
